Better late than never... Here's a quick look at DELL's Create/Work/Inspire pop-up workshop. I had the extreme honour and pleasure of working with lovely and talented team at We Came In Peace.

This has been over a year in the making... Beginning as an idea formulated by UK based friends, Terence Teh, Tom McCarthy, Alex Stevenson, Earnest Endeavours was just as its namesake suggests, an honest effort to create something new in a flailing and changing music industry.

I was honored when I was approached to partner in this endeavour and become the Visual Voice for the entire label. What has transpired over the course of the last yearis a solidifying of our collective interests and tastes. As true music aficionados with a penchant for the packaging and paraphernalia that for so long helped to define the music industry what we've endeavoured to do is to bring back the aspect of the "Artifact" to the music industry.

With our first release we proudly present BBRAVO. With a flair for the vocoder and a genuine "Cali-Vibe" it's hard not to want to drop-the-top on the whip and cruise into the sunset... Steady Mobbin'. Scroll down for a primer of what EARNEST ENDEAVOURS is all about !

I almost forgot to mention...
My work featured and followed up with an interview in LOS LOGOS.
The Venerable Compendium of all things LOGO and IDENTITY by DIE GESTALTEN Publications.

I think I've racked up over 20 LOGOS in this edition of the book. I spend a lot of my time working with Branding and developing Identities. The symbology of Logomark design is something which has always spoken to me.

Here is but a glimpse of some of my contributions to the great dialogue that is the WORLD OF LOGOS. Enjoy.

layboy Magazine & Photographer Jared Ryder invited me to collaborate on a new kind of Playboy Feature. I had the pleasure of working with the amazing photos taken by Jared of our friend, the lovely Tamara Sky. She's a star DJ in her own right and reps Miami's own OVERTHROW camp run by my good friends Sam Baum, Alexis Mincolla and Caleb Gauge. I created a new kind of Sacred-Deco-Geometry which references The Overthrow's, and my own shared fascination with all things occult, as well as the rich Art Deco tradition of Miami's architecture. All of that mixed with some classic 80's Miami Vice flair and the super sultry Ms. Tamara and you get the feature below... Thanks to everyone who made this feature possible and thanks to the team at PLAYBOY™ for having me involved. †††

y Body Bleeds Black Ink. Yo Sangro Tinta Negra. This is a return to form, a return from whence I came. I'd like to welcome you back old friend; it's been much too long and I've sincerely missed this exchange. This year marks the 5th year since the inception of my online voice. 5 years is an eternity by memetic standards, and the fact that this continuum of mine continues to stream content into the ether is commendable by any measure. Forgive me as I needed to step away to undergo a metamorphosis of sorts. During my absence I've prepared many heartfelt offerings for you. I sincerely hope you'll have a look and bask in the splendor.

he written word has always been near and dear to my heart... Yet, when I say "The Written Word" I refer not only the poetic flow of prose, but also the actual rhythm and color of the printed page. Derrida's interpolation of the printed word and the "Signals and Signifiers" which give life to letters on a page provides the basis for Deconstructionism. Reading into text, or rather reading between the texts has unveiled a great deal about the human experience. Reading the actual shapes and negative spaces of the letters which comprise the words, which comprise the sentences, which create the narratives unveils something wholly different. There is an underlying visual language which exists inseparable from the written word.

As it stands, some say that images work via a second communicative system, one fully as expressive as natural language, but separate and structured independently of it. Others find visual and verbal meanings more dissimilar than similar, with the visual lacking a kind of determinacy for which verbal language seems better suited. Whether or not images are inherently more polysemous than words, it's apparent that both are semiotic systems of near infinite depth which allow us the ability to communicate the most profound concepts and emotions imaginable.

Of importance to me is the conscious interaction of these two semiotic systems. What happens when the explicative and illustrative are overlaid in synergistic glory? What meaning is then read into a text merged with image... Does it become more image than text? If a Written Language collides with a Visual Language is not a new language formed? I hope these works may at least allude to a new language, a new and honest voice - a new voice for me.

DIETCH PROJECTS spinoff gallery THE HOLE NYC invited me to participate in their POSTERMAT group show which sets out to pay homage to the Poster Collecting culture of generations past.

The show includes work from the likes of BANKSY, YOKO ONO, BARRY McGEE, SHEPARD FAIREY, ESPO and many more... I'm humbled to be amongst such good company.

Each poster is a LIMITED EDITION of 50 Prints and can be purchased directly through THE HOLE NYC SHOP online or at the gallery. The posters are all Archival prints and there's an amazing breadth of work to choose from.

erses carved in marble and flesh. The revisionist history of Gianlorenzo Bernini and Aerosyn-Lex. This is an attempt at reconciliation with a greatness which has endured the ages. I've always been enamored with the work of Bernini, perhaps more so than other more notable renaissance masters. These works created for this latest iteration of THE SOLSTICE Journal are forays into classicism tempered with brutalist nature of the tools of today. Gianlorenzo, forgive me if this offends you.

A limited edition BOTTLE Collaboration by Myself and Questlove of The ROOTS

lending Art and Music is nothing new. Having the world's Largest and most Prestigious Cognac Brand BLEND together artists to create Custom Bottles is. I had the opportunity to sit down with Questlove and create a bottle design which spoke about each of us. Quest has a massive Vinyl collection, over 70,000 strong... I've got a much more modest collection but I put in years in Florida, Diggin' in the Crates. This bottle is about music in it's purest, original form. Vinyl.

The Bottle will be made available in limited numbers in 2011. It is a custom die-cut label with Gold-Foil and Embossing... The Gold details spell out our names respectively. I tried to push a lot of hidden details in this bottle that would become apparent only after someone spent some time sipping on the Henny with the bottle in hand. Check it out.

RE:FORM Charity Gallery Exhibition & Art Auction
Featuring Shepard Fairey, Michel Gondry, Swoon, WK Interact and more...
And the Debut of a new Large-Scale Calligraphic work

E:FORM School by REDU is a charity exhibition geared towards changing the failing American school system... I'd been fortunate enough to have been invited to create artwork to be shown alongside such altruistic luminaries such as Shepard Fairey, WK Interact and old friend Swoon.

I created a large-scale Calligraphic Piece, scribed on Mid-19th Century to Early 20th Century Text-Book papers... All drawn in an amalgamation of Sumi-e and traditional Western and Arabic calligraphic styles.
Title : LIBRO y CULEBRA ( Book & Snake ) : 48" x 60" : Ink on Antique Papers

The piece was a re-writing of Genesis 2:16-17 which recounts GOD's reference to the TREE of KNOWLEDGE. I also intertwined passages from the epic of GILGAMESH which cross-reference the idea of a Tree of Knowledge.

I'm proud to say that the piece was SOLD during the exhibition and that I am donating a portion of the proceeds to the RE:FORM SCHOOL CHARITY. Many thanks to everyone involved in this great event, especially to my good friend YOSI SERGANT who crafted and created this whole event and was gracious enough to invite me to participate. A pre-emptive look at a new Caslon Revival Typeface designed by me.

e are at the beginning of something new. This is the year 5770 according to the Jewish calendar, and yet even though I consider myself to be firmly planted in the year 2010 - I can't help but wonder where we'll be in the coming Æons. I can't help but wonder if my humble works will be discovered, in my lifetime - or perhaps afterwards, well afterwards, by an aesthete not much unlike myself - but born of a different era. What will letterforms have Evolved or Devolved into by then?
Let this be the shape of things to come

I'm currently wrapping up drawing the last 5 or so letterforms and alternates...
Hopefully I'll be able to share this with you before the year 5771 rolls around.
