erses carved in marble and flesh. The revisionist history of Gianlorenzo Bernini and Aerosyn-Lex. This is an attempt at reconciliation with a greatness which has endured the ages. I've always been enamored with the work of Bernini, perhaps more so than other more notable renaissance masters. These works created for this latest iteration of THE SOLSTICE Journal are forays into classicism tempered with brutalist nature of the tools of today. Gianlorenzo, forgive me if this offends you.
here is purpose in studying the works of the masters... I began my education as an artist's assistant; Sweeping studio floors, prepping paint palettes, stretching canvas. It was all very romantic. I remember the smell of linseed oil, and the quality of afternoon light as it poured in through the doors of this massive collective studio space in sub-urban Florida. It was a simpler time. This is an attempt at understanding the greatness of a master by reinterpreting his works with the techniques of today. Or as my fellow hoods might say; "Th1z ThA mUh'FkK1n REMIXXX" ^_~ .
