shibari

Sacred are the Ties That Bind Us
From the battlefield SENJOYO to the bedroom SHIBARI
A few visual ruminations on the art of restraint: Kinbaku

inew and twine, rope and restraint... There is beauty in the simple security provided by the entanglement of cord and string. There is something symbolic about a form so simple yet so utilitarian. I was compelled to pay homage to the tradition of Ornamental Knotting and it's Japanese counterpart Shibari. To be fair, Shibari or Kinbaku refers to the ancient Japanese Art of Bondage, though it takes influence from the battlefield practices of Samurai and their skill in binding a captive enemy: SENJOYO. Here are a few simple forms to show my reverence to the tradition of restraint.

crystalline

Crystalline Forms Evolving Freely in Space
Color and Angles meet to define the volume of Sacred Polyhedrons. This is the new MERKABA.
A new experimental work create late in the year MMX.

Have you ever pondered points of chakra, or meridians forming sacred Tetrahedrons? To expound upon that thought - a Tetrahedron ( or for our purposes, a MERKABA ) is a six pointed star in 2D, but in 3D it's two three-sided pyramids interlocked. Everything in creation has these star tetrahedrons, including human beings, and these star tetrahedrons, in conjunction with our DNA, are the key to true consciousness. These sacred shapes hold the key to many things; the key to emotional balance, etc. Surrounding the human body we have three star tetrahedrons - One of them static, the other two rotate independently. >These crystalline tetrahedrons form a sacred geometry around you, embracing you with energy. If you could see them, they might look like this.
